Im reading this book for our writers craft book review and it is incredible.

Its the memoirs of a boy solider named ishmael beah. I just really starting reading it tonight, and already got half way through.
I just dont know how Im feeling right now. the book is so incredible.
This survoir of this horrible event in history is describing all of his feelings, and all of the events that occured around him, and I just cant even imagine. I guess you could maybe say im in disbelief.  Some of the discriptions oh how the rebels attacked and killed other people are just horrible and gruesome. I dont know how human beings could do that to each other. And now that this boy is at a government camp, learning to become a solider.. and fighting killing people, its unreal the things government officals tell these young children. They killed your parents, and your family, now get your revenge. I mean I guess i could kind of justify it. If i was in his situation and the rebels killed my family, id probably shoot at them as im told..

this book is just so good.. and i want to read on.. but im almost afraid to, because the more i get into it, the more gruesome it gets.

I would definetly reccommend it though ;)

It sounds like a good book, and it IS incredibly sad, but that’s a good thing, in a way. Not meaning it’s good he went through it, but that we’re able to see that what happened was wrong, truly and ethically wrong, and that makes us human. I think the author is the guy who travels around with Me to We and speaks at gigs. I remember him from MetoWe Day in grade 10. He was amazing.
