Okay

you know what really pisses me off?? When plans are made, everything is arranged and it is decided what is going to happen. Oh you think this story ends happily?? NO! people decide, nah, I dont wanna go anymore, and F**K up my plans! This drives me CRAZY

I have to be in one spot, we agreed you would go here. Other people were involved with getting you from place to place, and like 3 hours before it all happens you decide to NOT GO ANYMORE! WTF

Ugh people just piss me off. this is what happens when stacey is angry

… not pretty eh?

I miss blogging! Im not going to lie!

It was one thing I always looked forward to during writers craft class. I think I wasnt the only one who agreed. Or people just talked about their personal lives and all the drama that goes on from day to day.

Being back at WO has made me realize how fast im really growing up! I think it really hit me today. I was walking down the tech hall, and there was this young couple ahead of me. They were maybe like 4 feet tall (the kids shrink every year!) Holding hands, looking like they were new to the dating game (the whole awkward, dont talk just hold hands and look cool with the accessory beside them). Another young guy was walking beside them. The girl saw a friend on the left side of the hall, gave him a little friendly hit, and the other boy (not holding her hand said) “What you dating him too?” Some laughs were shared among them, the rest is kind of a blur to me right now, but the other boy said “man where can I find myself one of them”, refering to getting a girlfriend as if it was easy as counting to 3. I thought, OMG these young people thinking falling in love and having a “partner” so to speak is all a big joke. You think this girls cute, so why not, you date her, after maybe 2 weeks you get bored, dump her and move onto the next prey. I think the kids get stupider and stupider as they enter highschool. Love is not a game meant to be played! And we wonder why more young teens these days are having sex?!

Anyways none of my story probably made sense. I just cant get over how small grade 9s are. They look like they should be in grade 2! My cousins 12 and she’s taller than me!

For all of you who went off the university/ college, hope your having an amazing time! nothing really has changed at WO, BUT we can now go on facebook, and we have Wi Fi, thats right WO has Wi Fi!?!? who would have saw that coming?

I dont know about anyone else, but i cant believe its the end of the school year! It seemed like just yesterday I was coming back to school (for what i thought was the last year)

But now I have one more year here… not that im regretting it. It will be an amazing time!

One more exam left. German. I gotta admit I really didn’t study alot this year. By the end of this year I was so sick of doing projects and assignments that i said, oh well. I’ll study the night before. I dont think I did horrible but i could have/ should have studied more.

Anyways good luck to all of you how still have exams.. If your done.. Adios.

Jon and Kate plus 8 continues…

Recently in the media, we have all seen the scandal behind the ever popular Jon and Kate plus 8 reality show that was aired on TLC. It follows the life of the married couple who have had two sets of multiples. Twins and  sextuplets. After just over a decade of marriage the couple called it off, and now the kids are left to suffer. These are two columns are based on the news that the reality show would either be changed to ‘Kate Plus 8’ or canned all together. The two different columns have very different purposes and that is reflected in how they were written and the content involved.

Both pieces use harsh humour to show their disgust about the show. The second column contains a lot of satire and gets to the point of being very downright rude, where as the first is a little more respectful. Column twos states: “Oh Jon Gosselin, we envy you. Or we can’t wait for you to disappear from our lives forever. One or the other.” Whereas the first column is a bit less harsh and more relaxed. “My Care-O-Meter reading on this one is pretty low.” That is not very mean. The leads are very different in each column. In the first column it is very abrupt and short. It is an example of a brief anecdote describing to the readers what is happening in their life. The second column’s lead is a direct address to Jon Gosselin, telling or reminding him of what his ultimate goal was; to be away from it all. This lead is more effective because it reflects the purpose he was portraying.

The purpose of a column is to criticize either a person, custom, or social movement for example. In the first column I found it was not written to that same level. To me it was all a wad of information. The author didn’t use any quotations from other people giving opinion, just threw in a bunch of detailed information. This author’s column is to instead bash the TLC channel, for wanting this show to boost their ratings. Whereas in the second column his purpose is clear, and that was to bash and criticize Kate and Jon and put down their roles as parents. Also to show how he feels this show is just way for them to have a narcissistic release. With all of this said the strength of the points given were different. The first column lacked informative stats and was written at a lower level of literary content. Whereas the second column had more extensive stats and works to prove his points.

When I read a column I look for the author to be creative in how he/she proves their point. Overall I feel the second column was better written. The first column was very lacking in content and was lightly humoured, which didn’t fulfil a columns purpose to criticize. The second column was more critical and insightful in the way that the author knew what he was saying. The second column overall helped to portray the life we see on TV and reflects how viewers of the show are seeing the changes. No one is in agreeance with Jon and Kate and that is what makes them so easy to criticize.

customer service May 24, 2010

The other day I was going through a drive thru and it made me think… where the heck did customer service go?

I know, since I work in the restaurant industry, i always try to make customers happy, and keep a positive attitude to keep my customers…. this person was so angry, she didnt evenn say hey, or that will be $4.83 sense.. it was put hand out the money, took money, gave change, gave order and closed the window…

yeah, its not like a sit down restaurant but really? you hate your life that much you cant even say hi? if you dont like your job..get a new one!

ugh i hate bitchy people

A long Way gone May 18, 2010

Im reading this book for our writers craft book review and it is incredible.

Its the memoirs of a boy solider named ishmael beah. I just really starting reading it tonight, and already got half way through.
I just dont know how Im feeling right now. the book is so incredible.
This survoir of this horrible event in history is describing all of his feelings, and all of the events that occured around him, and I just cant even imagine. I guess you could maybe say im in disbelief.  Some of the discriptions oh how the rebels attacked and killed other people are just horrible and gruesome. I dont know how human beings could do that to each other. And now that this boy is at a government camp, learning to become a solider.. and fighting killing people, its unreal the things government officals tell these young children. They killed your parents, and your family, now get your revenge. I mean I guess i could kind of justify it. If i was in his situation and the rebels killed my family, id probably shoot at them as im told..

this book is just so good.. and i want to read on.. but im almost afraid to, because the more i get into it, the more gruesome it gets.

I would definetly reccommend it though ;)

sexual predators May 14, 2010

People always used to make fun of me, and still do, when i get on the subject of sexual predators. Yes im 18 years old, and im terrified everytime, everywhere I go that someone is going to attack / rape me!

Here is proof im not totally crazy

http://news.ca.msn.com/local/toronto/article.aspx?cp-documentid=24238799

Toronto police have warned women who frequently use the subway to watch themselves because a man 30-40 years old Indian man, has been following women aged 30-40 on the subway.  He stands behind them, and performs sexual acts.

Just reading this makes me sick. I cannot fathom why people do this kind of stuff. I mean yes people are pedophiles, and have other problems, but how anyone could do that to someone else!

Marriage and abuse May 11, 2010

I was just reading around the internet and came across an article:

“Boyfriend gets jail for Cambridge beating”

and it sparks the question in my head:   “Who do spouses/ bfs/gfs beat each other up?”

I know every case is different. No two people in a relationship are the same, but if you are with someone, and obviously hate them or are mad at them for some reason, must you resort to violence? surely there is another way you can deal with your issues?

What do you guys think? Do you think there is something that influences people (other than their parents were abusive too. blah blah) to do it? Like some event or what is it?
